According to Chef Marc Filippo of Cafe Meze Restaurant
“I cook for a public that demands great taste. I have found that the biggest benefit of using cooking oils that do not contain trans fat is, in fact, the taste. Additionally, I personally live a healthy lifestyle, which automatically translates into my cooking here.”

According to Chef Jay Lippin of Mighty Joe Young’s Steakhouse
“We recently switched to Elitra, a trans-fat free oil, that has been a great success. This new oil is actually cheaper to use because it doesn’t break down as easily so it lasts longer. We want our customers to have a great dining experience, and using the best ingredients in preparing our foods is part of that. When the County reached out to us, we were really excited about participating in this program because it’s something we really believe in.”

According to Chef/Owner Sal Cucullo of Fratelli’s Restaurant
“Our restaurant focuses on providing gourmet cooking and fine foods for our patrons. We take pride in the healthier and tastier menu options we offer by using only vegetable, canola or olive oils in food preparation. I see no reason why restaurants could not switch to cooking oils containing no trans fats in their food preparation, making meals healthier for everyone.”

This excellent restaurant has two locations, one in Boca Raton owned by the father and another in Delray Beach owned by his son. The quality of the food is excellent. The blue cheese dressing for the house salad has a good amount of cheese. The same can be said for the Gorgonzola salad. The veal is excellent. The pizza is very tasty and not too dry. If you do not like coal-fired pizza, Nino’s is the alternative. The oils used do not contain trans fat. Prices are reasonable, but quality comes first and price is secondary. Fresh high-quality ingredients are used. To view the menu, please visit ninositalianrestaurant.com. In addition, Nino’s features daily specials including seafood entrees

In addition to cooking with trans-fat-free oil, this restaurant uses trans fat free crackers. Knish Nosh has been making and serving Knishes in New York since 1952 and has recently opened a location in the Pineapple Grove section of Delray Beach, Florida. Knish Nosh cooks with oil that has no trans-fat and no cholesterol. This establishment is kosher. The varieties of knishes include potato, spinach, kasha, broccoli, mushroom, cabbage, sweet potato, and meat. In addition Knish Nosh serves frank in a blanket, corned beef, pastrami and turkey sandwiches or knish wraps, latkes (potato pancakes), soups, rugelach and Italian ices. You may take the food home and warm up Knishes in only 12 minutes in the oven. Everything I ate was excellent. The Knishes were not heavy. One customer said his corned beef sandwich was the best he ever had.
